The initial report recommendation called for the development of
a joint CHIP and SDCOL taskforce comprised of literacy and health
professionals to champion the awareness of health literacy in San
Diego County. This taskforce, known as the Health Literacy
San Diego Taskforce, was convened in mid-2008 and continues to meet

The taskforce has three subcommittees, each focusing on a
specific recommendation (curriculum, training and website).
